Whats a good low cost stats tool? I need to provide some detailed info for my clients.

I personally use web trends. It create great html reports.

I find webtrends is looking a little dated, the front end is lacking any real substance. Alternative products to check out are, sane.com and urchin.com. Although theyre less established they\'ve been more creative in their presentation of data,

These tools seem quite expensive. Do you know of any cheaper ones? I have a limited budget.

It depends on the information your after, there are plenty of free tools out there that will provide basic page counting stats and visitor records, in exchange for you running a free banner within your site.

The alternatice is to hunt round some of the free script sites, like http://www.cgi-resources.com or http://www.ScriptLocker.com, I'm sure you'd be able to find some basic counter software.

@Would a counter be good enough? Link exchange offers a free counter for you to use. You could put it in the bottom of your page. I've done that with my web site UFO Watch (http://www.ufowatch.com). Linkexchange emails me every month telling me exactly how many impressions I received on my home page each week.

We use Webalizer Version 2.01.

It's actually pretty neat with all the details, from where the client entered to even where they left.

All the unique hits, and hits and so forth.

We use Webalizer and AwStats on our servers.

I think AwStats is used more often out of the two :)

Webalizer is a good general server package. You can also suggest your clients install AXS on thier accounts.
