I am sorry this has to be an open letter. But frandt.com has not replied to any of my email queries. Their 800 numbers cannot be connected ((Toll Free) 1-888-9-FRANDT (1-888-937-2638). Support, (Toll Free)
1-866-9-FRANDT (1-866-937-2638)
I have registered a domain name and paid through their website on March 5, 2005. They have never sent me information on how to administrate this domain name.
Despite repeated emails, tickets logged through their site and voice mails (their 888 number used to work), there has been no answer.
I am urgently in need of transferring this domain out of frandt.com.
Will frandt.com support person please reply to this forum to defend their position?
Otherwise, the only conclusion is frandt.com is a fraud.

I am sorry to hear what happened to you.
Have you checked whether your domain is already registered? If not, you can purchase your domain somewhere else and hopefully frandt.com will refund your payment.
If it's registered, you may want to transfer to other provider. With new ICANN policy, the transfer is easier because it did not require approval from your old provider.
It's my two cents and Good Luck

Thank you for your support. Yes it is registered to my name. I'm kind of shock to see my personal info appears in whois and I have no control panel to change it.
Fortunately, the support team of the free hosting company atspace.com told me to contact enom.com and the latter found a way to let me take back the control. This is without paying atspace or enom anything. Just because of this, I'm definitely considering doing business with them after the evaluation period.

Bryan,
Be sure to keep the administrative e-mail contact up to date on the domain. It is advisable to use an e-mail that is not on the domain in so that you can still retrieve mail later if the name servers are pointed wrong.

Also accoring to ICAnn you must have correct information in your whois information sorry they do this for reasons of contacting the domain owner.

Thanks all. I don't mind having accurate info there, but at least I want to put down my work address rather than personal home address.

I am a rep of FRandT. I can say that we have had an article on our site for quite some time explaining that our phone systems would be down until our call center is moved. This can also be found in your members are in very big, BOLD, letters.
FRandT answers every support ticket recieved within 6 hours, thats our standard, if we cannot, we hire more people, period. If you are not recieving replies, or if your ticket was not replied to, make sure that you left a well formed question, because tickets with "My domain don't work" is usually deleted for lack of information. Our Tech's times are very valuable, and they need not waste time looking through the system to pull up someone's information and try and replicate the problem for them, when the person could have taken the time to include the problem.
Make sure you also reply to the FRandT SpamBlock(TM) program as well, because if you do not, support will NEVER see your ticket.
But for trials, reading the FRandT FAQ's will turn you this infromation:
"How do I administer my Registrar Settings?"
Simply login to http://www.frandt.com/registrar/ with the same password you included when registering your domain/hosting account.
The FAQ's really are not hard to find, there is a big link at the top of our site that says "FAQs". However if you are having problems finding this, please let me know and I will send a request for the webmasters to ensure they take up at least a quarter of the page.
I hope that helps.

Have you tried contacting their support? You may get a faster response than posting it here.
Just my two cents :)

Of course I tried to contact them, but they never answer emails. Just try to go to frandt.com, and you will understand. The whole site is down and I don't know what happened. Anyway, I'll just have to find another hosting now, that's good at least that I have backed up all my site files :-)

They are still ofline, so I had to change server for my site... I still can't believe that, the site looked very professional and they had so many cool features for webmasters...

I am glad now I didn't paid them, I had a free trial account at frandt and I was going to pay to increase bandwidth limit... and also it seemed strange to me that they requested your credit card and took $1, they told it was just to keep them out of spammers... Well now I have moved to ehostpros, they have a very good customer support, but the cpanel lacks some advanced features...

I'm a paying customer (or, should I say, was) of FRandT, I have my own domain, etc. However, they've been down for the last WEEK! Are they out of business? If they don't fix their problem, I'm going to have to switch to a different web hosting company.

I am surpirsed to see this many problems and still the rep from the frandt.com has the guts to say that they are saving money by deleting the tickets that has less info in it ? Are they running a private business or a government sector ?
If i would get a support ticket from my customer and i need more info to solve the problem, i ask for it. It is my JOB to give answers to the customers and not just sit there and delete the tickets.
No wonder why they went belly up. The site does not load and I think all the customers are left in the dark.
Good Luck to all !

Well, I'm going to find another web host, and I suggest that all other clients do the same. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for a week, and I'm pretty sure that they'll never get back into business. They're GONE! Fuck them. I had been a client of theirs for over a year. I've found another company that has a better reputation, and no downtime. Fuck FRandT.

Dear Sir
I hope you or someone can help me solve my problem.
In June 2004, a friend of mine bought an unmanaged server with EV1server.net with my credit card. He also registered a domain name on my behalf. He has refused to hand over control despite repeated emails from me. Now he is un-contactable at all.
I have written to EV1 twice but did not get any answer. The proof of purchase is my credit card statement.
I like to retain control of my server, any advice is appreciated.

I am Jeffrey Wellman, I am just someone that has a website with them, ALRIGHT?
God, you are so paranoided.....
How did I get that information about FRandT? Because I contacted him on an instant messenger because he helped me personally with my website. I kept having problems setting up and accessing my FTPs and stuff.

My advice to anyone who has complaints reagrding this company is to first contact your CC issuing bank and explain the situation.
Most issuers will be able to help the CONSUMER.
They can do a chargeback for services not rendered, refund your money and then CHARGE the host additional fees. You might also want contact the BBB and file a complaint.
This thread is now CLOSED, but it does speak volumes on all who posted. :err:
