I am looking to get an e commerce fraud detection for my company to integrate with the shopping cart. Does anybody have any suggestions about a good software package for me.
I found one FraudLabs free account from http://www.fraudlabs.com and I think that I will go with this one, but I have not signed up yet. Does anyone have a recommendation?
Thanks,
Maymay

You could also check with verisign and maxmind but they are not free.

For a detection of fraud, you should first look into his i.p. and where exaclty he is located, there after do not provide services without any payments recieved first, then check by what means he is paying i.e. credit card etc., take all the neccesary details, and verify with all the contact information given.
Apart from this, you need to be really smart to play with fraudiers.

I have always been of the rule of having the transaction be handled by a company like PayPal. This lets them provide those services for that 2.99% they are charging you for the transaction. IP Address information can be spoofed by anyone that knows how. It is good if they really are at that address.

Paypal is indeed one of the best mode of payments available, you can now even check the google check out, which is nothing but a payment option created by the major online tycoon 'google'. :coctail:

maxmind will do that also for you , but the best thing is confirming payment manually

Manual confirmation is the best but sometimes you end up spending more in phone calls than the profit you made with the product if you sell worldwide. Maxmind is a good option in my opinion.

You may also with to try the following two companies:
MaxMind - www.maxmind.com
VariLogiX FraudCall - www.varilogix.com
Telesign - www.telesign.com
In my personal experience MaxMind is the cheapest but sometimes there service does go down :)
Hope this helps you.
