In my long search for the perfect hosting account I have encountered few hosts who don't offer dedicated IP addresses. I'm leaning heavily toward http://www.tvcnet.com right now. They offer everything else that I need (and then some), but they don't offer dedicated IPs. I guess I don't fully understand the pros and cons of this or the affect it would have on my sites.

Can anyone offer some advice? Thanks!

Brian

The fact that you cannot find dedicated IP addresses suggests that you must be using virtual/shared type hosting.

Becuase, in this case, the machine is shared and run by the hosting company, to save on resources and system admin, they shared IP addresses.

If an IP address is changed, it can take several days before it filters across the whole internet since most DNS server cache IP addresses.

Why do you want dedicated IP addresses, the only way I know to get a dedicated IP address is to get a dedicated server ! Either that or demand one from a supplier.
