Looking for any comments and history on www.remarkablehosting.com. Especially regarding technical support and help. Their pricing seems very decent with the WEBppliance Plan which is powered by Ensim.

I think they're a fairly new company so there might not be a lot of history on them yet. They've been doing a fair amount of marketing so would be getting some signups by now I would say. So far I'm yet to hear anything bad as far as feedback goes, so from all reports they're providing good service. Hopefully someone using them will drop by and give you some personal opinions about them.

Thanks,

I did find a interview with them on another site after I posted this and did glean that they were new but ambitious. May that means they will try harder?

Remarkable Hosting just PM'd me asking if it ok to post a reply to this thread. I've told them that's fine as the thread is about them in the first place. I feel any host deserves a 'right of reply' in cases like this, so you needn't report their post if it appears..

Hello,

My name is Matthew Feinberg. I'm the President and Founder of Remarkable Hosting. We are a new hosting company. I started planning for this venture more than a year ago and opened the business for sales Oct. 1 2001.

Just to give you some background. I am formally from Ensim Corp holding various jobs and titles, the last of which was Web Hosting Architect. Before Ensim I was in the hosting business since 1995 with several ISP's and Hosts in New Jersey.

I now reside in Henderson, Nevada where I plan on growing the business.

I can promise you that your experience with Remarkable Hosting will be nothing less than "Simply, Remarkable..." (hence my slogan). Yes we are ambitious.

Regards,

Matthew Feinberg

Hello all,
Just some feedback for Remarkable..
I signed up not quite a month ago for their Webppliance Server (basically their reseller private server) for 79.95/mo and no setup fee (which was one of the reasons I chose them). I am using this account to get more familar with the Ensim software and to host shared accounts with automated setup which I will use the Ensim RAS addon.

Matt has been "Simply Remarkable"! Most of the time he's on ICQ and will answer your questions right then. If its more of a serious problem, you may have to log a support ticket, but mine was done in a couple of hours and he went directly to Ensim support to fix the problem I had.

Its only been a month, but I have not experienced any downtime.
Network connectivity is great. I did the standard test at ftp://ftp.uu.net/uumap.tar.Z

Results: (275.51 KB/s) - `uumap.tar.Z' saved (8.3MB's)

If you have any other doubts about Remarkable, please email me. Matt is very pleasant to deal with and I am sure Remarkable Hosting will continue to grow.

This has been my experience and I acknowledge it is true.
Laterz,
Raqworld

PS- Matt, my offer still stands, if you need a partner or a new employee, you have my email address... :D

I have to second RaqWorld's comments.
After my initial posting and obtaining more info. from Matt, I signed on and began moving my sites over. Any stumbling blocks I encountered along the way I was able to overcome with Matt's assistance. He has gone above and beyond on more than one occasion and always seems to be there when I need him.
