Hi hope this is the right place for this post :),

I?ve been putting together an online ?knowledge base? / ?automated support? site for our customers (The EverythingButComputers ? Group). The idea is to generally cover as many aspects of the ?internet experience? as possible.
Hopefully, by containing a large and varied scope of material, this will not only help customers prior to contacting our support section (thus possibly reduce support requests), but also offer them a broader knowledge and understanding, whereby they can develop there own skills.

I appreciate that a large number of established hosts, already have similar, or better ?set-ups? already online and that similar posts have been made here before, but I?m interested in hearing from anyone who;

a) Owns web tutorial site, and would consider a reciprocal link
b) Anyone who would kindly donate articles / content for inclusion
c) Hosts who have not developed an ?online support system, / ?knowledge base? and interested in utilising the system for their own customers. (By this I don?t mean purchase, which would be wrong if others contributed articles freely. Perhaps we could barter? i.e. someone do me a decent flash intro for http://WebToNow.com in exchange?)

As a gesture of goodwill, should any new web hosts think the system / database would benefit them, and would like to add other sections of interest. I?ll zip the whole site up once complete (including database) for use on your own site (to be fair though it would have to be more than a couple of pages).

Please email me directly if your interested, sorry for the long post, thanks in advance.
The site may be viewed at ? http://www.FirstWebMaster.co.uk

What were you looking at? I presume things like control panel manuals are virtually pointless as a lot of people use a different setup. HTML tutorials? Advertising, scripting? That sort of thing?

Html and scripting tutorials would be great :)

Your right, control panel tutorials would be useless (from me), I presume that should anyone else decide to use the script (as offered in my post) that they would include those appertaining to their own system.

The idea is create a system that offers customers a 'wider' reference point that 'may' help them develop their sites / internet experience. I appreciate that 'much' of this information is availabe via numerous URL's, but felt that from a business 'point of view' trying to collate some of it in one 'familiar' location for customers, might be beneficial.

As I am not, nor pretend to be a 'wizard' at everything, I just thought I'd through it 'open' and see what developed. Understanding that 'support' is the biggest time consumer for all of us, I made the offer for newer hosts, to try and give them a ''head start'.

Actually it's a good idea. We're redeveloping our own site right now and a resource area is firmly in the making. Once it gets done I don't see why I couldn't send something your way. For now it'll probably be little more than a resource list pointing out many of the sites we use, or have used in the past. From design to ads, to probably a few other areas such as merchant systems, and commercial products.

A bit of a tip for people with a hosting site. A hefty support area tends to get some traffic off search engines too. A couple of megabytes of technical inforamtion does wonders for your overall keywords :D

Much appreciated :)
Another option that may be of value (should anyone not require the sites code), is that I'm willing to offer the database on it's own if anyone feels it would be more beneficial?

That might make it more attractive to a lot of people. If it were something you could just plug into your current site fairly easy it would certainly appeal to people :)
