Does anybody here offers shell accounts mainly used for IRC bots, bnc's and ircd?
I want to start so-called "shell company" and any advice will be appriciated.
I will need dedicated server 1 GHz or up, 512-1024 MB RAM, 128-255 IP's and probably 100 GB transfer monthly. I'll need to run my DNS server and possibility to choose other OS then Red Hat (freeBSD or other linux).
If you run shell company, or have any expirience which company should i choose for dedicated server plese post it here.

I think other guys here will have a better idea of such a provider but if you're really stuck then use the hostquote service on this site.

I already used hostquote but only few comanies replyed.
The main thing is that I need at least 128 IP's to make vhosts but almost every company charge a lot for IP's.
So far the best company that cover my needs is
www.aaaservers.net (http://www.aaaservers.net)
as they offer 255 IP's and 250 GB of traffic included with their plan AAA 250 LX.
Anybody used this company? Are they good?
Thanks.

hmm
yeah a good deal i guess... but a bit concerning that i get 90ms ping time to a place in san jose... i mean i am on the west coast... i get less than 30ms to silicon valley... and like 90ms to the east coast... so... hm... latency is a tad of an issue... which for IRC, does matter i'd say (if anybody thinks it doesn't, say so... cuz theres a big chance i could be wrong)... they seem to run off an upstream provider (www.elan.net/elanweb) that uses cogent too (peers and provides transit via PAIX)...
all in all, hop by www.ispcheck.com n i'm sure u'll find some extra alternatives... :) but they're good if their price doesn't concern you... :)

Yes, I guess you are right. Latency does metter for IRC as IRC bots should be very fast.
I did ping and treceroute and I got very dissapointing results:
minimum = 158 ms , Maximum = 179 ms , Average = 165 ms
pinged from Toronto.
They use cogent and elan but i dont know if they are good or not.
Anyone, please, do you have any experience with aaaservers.net
Thanks
