First let me say this is a nice site and very helpful. Plus this board looks good :D
I'm currently hosting with Transinc (http://www.transinc.com) . They're pretty good but a little flaky. They've had a little downtime but not bad. The teck support is not all that helpful and some of their features are not standard. And one thing that bothers me is the lack of an error log.
I've been looking at other hosts for awhile. One that looks good (on paper) is Liquid Web (http://www.liquidweb.com) . I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with either of these hosts.

If you are hosting ASP/(any kind of database) then you should have your own error handling code built into your site. I normally write my own error handlers in COM to achieve this, but you don't normally get that luxury on a hosting company's server! Although, saying that, error handling in ASP is easy enough and a good backend database to log it. Hell, log to a text file if really needed.
That's short term... as for Liquid Web... Dunno...

Thanks for your positive feedback on our site :)
I've found just one user comment in our database about Liquid Web, you can read it if you click on the link

Thanks, still haven't decided :(
I'll probably run both fro a while. I'll let you know what I think of Liquid Web.

I moved two sites to Liquid Web in February, and they are fine - unless you need technical support or have a problem on the weekends.
They don't appear to have any weekend support, and they close your helpdesk tickets when they acknowledge that there is a problem - not when they solve it.
They don't seem to have anyone really technical on their staff, and I've given up on asking them anything that I can't figure out on my own.
I'll be changing IPPs again in the near future I'm sorry to say.

Thanks for the heads up. Teck support is very important. And everything always breaks on the weekends. Or at 3 in the morning :D
Any idea who you will go with? I've been looking at phpwebhosting.com They look pretty good. I couldn't find them in the database here tho.

Not yet. My users were fairly well disturbed during the last move, so I'll wait for a bit before I move again. I prepaid a year with Liquid Web, so unless something happens that just puts me over the top, I'll take my time making this decision.
It's not a simple world out there. There are some problems that seem to be common across NOCs, almost regardless of who you host with at that NOC. There are other problems - like staffing - that you have to research on discussion forums, because the hosting company just lies on their website about it.
I also like the uptime guarantees that some hosting companies offer. Read them very carefully, becuase the language can exclude them from responsibility for almost any reason. I still cannot figure out when Liquid Web would be liable in their guarantee...
