can anyone recommend a decent offline browser and ftp?

Do you mean something like this?

I've used to it get customers sites from their server when we redesign them, and always found it to be a good program. I'm sure you're aware that ripping a site without the owners permission is in very poor taste of course.

web copier is very good and i now have my website saved on my hard drive.
could anyone recommend some ftp software?

Paid software recommendations would be WS-FTP and CuteFTP (I prefer WS-FTP myself and have used it for years.)

Free software though, would be WS-FTP(LE) or smart-FTP
