hi akashik

yes you seem to understood me very well. but I dont understand, if they can open com.tr how come can not they open gen.tr. it sounds to me almost similar. ofcourse I dont know the technical side of it.

for example trial.com.tr can be opened but trial.gen.tr can not! how come.

and lets say it is not possible for some technical reason, so, what can be the reason for the company to not to reply this simple question..

thanks

I've split this thread as we were starting to hijack that other one :)

Ok....

.com, .net, and .org are all recognized domain extensions. The country code after them (in this case .tr) is also recognized by ICANN. To this end domain.com.tr will work just fine. From my limited understanding of your issue here is, .com.tr and .tr as extensions both work internationally

These people have registered gen.tr as a domain name and are offering what amounts to be subdomains off that one master domain. That's how you get domain.gen.tr. While this will work with their servers it won't work elsewhere as you need that gen.tr master domain. Now if .com.tr works as a recognized domain extension under ICANN then it can be hosted anywhere.

If they were to use the same extention in your case these would be the two domains:

trial.com.tr (trial is the domain name)
trial.gen.com.tr (trial is a subdomain of the gen domain)

See what I mean? Now I might be wrong with this, but as fdar as I can see everything points to this being the case.
