My son is nine years old and I want to him internet savvy. I want him to familiarize himself with internet operations as knowledge of the internet is a must these days. And I think he is in the right age for this. But I am also aware of the hazards of internet usage and would like to safeguard my child from them. Is this possible?

Yes this is possible infact you can contact your isp and they can also restrict certain thing's . Infact you can also yourself go into tool's then internet options and select trusted site's and non trusted site's. Your child is 9 it will take him some time to figure out how to change this setting :P but the best thing to do is contact your isp :-) Good luck.

Yes. This is certainly possible with the help of www.kidsemail.org . Kidsemail.org will help your child explore the wonderful world of internet. It provides a safe email service and also a web browser especially for kids. So concerned parents like you can now protect your child from the vices of the internet.

Hi, Roswell!
I think you need a kind of keylogger - my friends use it for monitoring their small kids' internet activities. This is what they use - ProteMac KeyBag (http://protemac.com/KeyBag/), maybe it will be useful for you as well :)
I'm very glad you are worried about your son's safety, it's really important nowadays.
