Hi All,
I'd like to briefly share with you my experience with two hosting companies:
1. Jumpline: every support call was first met with replies on the level of "make sure you're connected to the internet". When my data exceeded the limit of the hosting plan, they shut down all services and by the time I got on top of things 4 days of email were *lost*. No backups, no deferred delivery - they just threw them out. I was not even notified of the problem because the only email address they had was in my domain... At some point it became a ritual - support would screw things up and then a guy in customer service (whom I had to call on the phone) would fix their blunders.
2. NRWW: very fast network but *completely* incompetent support. When I asked them to create a POP user for me they went ahead and transferred all my files to this user. Trying to fix this (as simple as chown -R) they disabled my web control panel and all my PHP scripts. They have an excellent support system where you submit your request, get an email receipt and then wait, sometimes indefinitely. This is a classic case where the price is right, the package is excellent but the people behind the network turn the experience into a nightmare.
Hope this saves some of you time and trouble,
David
