All that, but only a single IDE hard drive?
Does the plan include daily backups, and some sort of disaster recovery solution?

A single IDE hard drive is like a time bomb. And the clock is running.

I'd recommend finding out what their RAID options are. Although SCSI RAID 5 arrays are pricey, there are other options now, both hardware and software IDE RAID 5 arrays are possible and reliable, and although you lose the hot-swap ability (although they are working on that), it's a fraction of the cost of a SCSI array.

They do offer a 20 gig hard drive for backups or you can replace the 20 gig with another 60 gig for $19 a month.

Sorry, should have included that!

Hi Bob,

You seem to know a lot a out their pricing options? If you have any business relationship with this company could you please post this sort of promotional text within the advertising forum.

We try to avoid misleading our users as much as possible by keeping promotions out of the main forums.

Thanks

Very strange question...of course I know a lot about their pricing options. I've researched their pricing and company. The question was asked about disaster recovery so I was just trying to get a more informed and unbiased opinion.

Next time I'll go to another forum if thats what you would like.

Sorry if i misread your intentions, but after doing this for as long as some of us have we get very suspicious about self promotion. Spamming the boards with plans that want reviewing is the most common technique used.

My intention was not to be heavy handed but to offer as balanced a service as possible for our members, some of whom are not as experienced as the rest of us.

Once again, I would like to say that I am not affiliated with eis in any way. I had been looking for a relatively inexpensive dedicated windows machine and when I found it I guess I got excited.

For your information I did get one of these servers and everything is working very well. EIS provides much better support than my last host and I am getting a pretty good cost savings to boot.

Cheers to Matt for offering such a good service.
