Domain name ?, pleez help...

Hi,
I purchase a domain name for my sister last year, sometime between Sept and Oct, but I lost the info as far as the company I purchased it from. My sis wants to renew but I have have no idea how to find out the company. Any one know how I can find how I can do this?????

Try a domain lookup on the URL you paid for. It will return various bits of info that might help you.

Most of the time you can just look at the name servers and that will show the domain name of the company you registered your domain with.

You can try DNS Stuff:

http://www.dnsstuff.com

Enter the domain name in the WHOIS Lookup box and hit the button. The resulting information should give you enough information to find the registrar.

If you registered the domain with a small company chances are they are reselling for a larger ICANN accreditted registrar, for example: Enom; NetSol etc.

The information in the WHOIS lookup will return the ICANN registrar, not necessarilly the company with whom you made the purchase. I know in the case of Enom they normally pass you back to the reseller, (least they used to and I hope they still do) Others might handle you enquiry directly.

So I guess what I'm saying is... you may need to do a bit of running around.
