View Full Version : Bad Host: IICinternet

I had experiences in getting over 5 hosts from the past. IICinternet is the worst host I ever found. Just don't listen to their what 'fast support', all nonsenses! They declared like the other hosts, the setup time is 24hrs. It's possible to have delay up to 72hrs due to unexpected problems. However, ONLY TRANSFERRING registered domain will take you 8 days! yes, 8 days for just transferring a registered domain name!!!! I receive annoying replies or no reply at all from them telling me irrelavent things. you'll get slow report telling you 'you'll see changes in the next couple of days', 'you'll see changes in 1-5 days' etc... with all kinds of spelling mistakes in the emails they reply. Their support is just bad.

Very bad control panel, hard to follow instructions. No cgi-bin/ directory. If you want to get a reliable host, just don't try them, they really piss me off!

FYI - Sometimes when transferring a domain it's the other registrar that holds things up. And some registrars want the domain owner to confirm the transfer so that can slow things down.

The domain registrant is networksolutions, I've been buying domains from them all these years, never experience this problem. From the Whois, the name server is already pointed to them, and nothing is happenning and their support is just sux! eg. from my last host, it took just less than a day to transfer domain from networksolutions!

Hi,
Well networksolutions continues to go downhill.
Years ago I didnt have trouble with them either, BUT the last year or so, they have steadily went downhill.
Their forms are sooo confusing to most people that its ridiculous.
It seems every time you adjust/adapt to the forms..they turn around and make another change.

NSI - That explains it all!

I had a customer that it took over 2 weeks and half a dozen phone calls to get transfered from there!!!

holy crap!

I used to use iicinternet.com..........they are without a doubt the worst host. Check this out: My site i had there is down for hours at a time at least every other day! And it USUALLY takes 8 seconds to transfer me to another page on my site, that`s how slow the servers are. I had my site there for months and down-time is a very regular thing. Not only down-time but i can`t believe how ridiculously slow my site was there. A free hosting provider is faster than they are. It only cost $2.99/month to host my site there, otherwise i would`ve gotten a refund immediately. And they do not work on weekends so it can take three days for you to get a response. And yep, they constantly mispell words and half the time i can hardly fiqure out what the heck they wrote back to me. ha ha, vat a bunch of rejects....:)

vincentnmf, was your site really really slow all the time too? And their control panel, i think they made it themselves or something. At least its got alot of pretty rainbow like colors in it. whoops, i think i babbled too much. i think i need to come here less often.

wow, I don't know they're that bad, I just started using them. If it was really that bad, I'll get my full refund soon. And yah, their support should go to study highschool or sth again, very very bad sentences, I don't usually understand what they're saying.

oh yeh, you`ll find out real soon that they are terrible. One stupid annoying problem after the other. What hosting plan did you order there? I`m really curious, tell me in a while if your site is so slow 90% of the time that it hardly loads. Not only that, but they flat out lie to you in your face (i won`t tell the story....).

And in one place they write unlimited bandwidth and then their price chart right underneath that says 1 GB bandwidth. And they constantly change their blasted bandwidth limit. Three weeks ago they allowed 5 gigs on the starter and web299 plan, now all of a sudden it`s 1 gig. _I_ up yours iic

Oh, I forgot my plan name, it's $10/mo, and I should have 8 Gig bandwidth for that plan. Hopefully everything works out OK, then I don't have to contact those stupid support again. If I were to really withdraw from them, I would probably lost another week to set everything up again. To be safe, I should search a new host for backup now..haha

oh i see. I had a site on their $2.99/month plan. I kept a site (a site that i really don`t care about) there for a very long time hoping that they would improve. I thought that maybe somehow they would be good soon.........but nope. Over the past year they`ve gotten much worse. Oh well. I`m very curious though. Can ya post back in a couple of weeks and tell us what happens.
I`m really curious. :)

And maybe you should discreetly send them a book on handwriting and learning the alphabet.

Yes Phoenix,

I think it`s called "Hooked On Phonics".

:)

(i mis-spell words too, but not even close to as bad as they do at iic. Seriously, half the time i`d get one sentence responses but had to stare at it for an hour trying to make sense of it).

i just realized that the moderators here probably hate me by now for hogging up threads with my posts all the time.

frosty,

well you could consider them value for money I suppose. I clear concise well documented response may take up a few hundreds words but only take 5 minutes to heard and fully understand. It appears these guys are providing a simple one line response that is giving you an hour's worth of reading! :D

So in summary
Consistanty poor support replies (in both form and content)
Claims of unlimited that prove to be very small indeed
Lack of consistancy on those limits and no notification of changes
Very slow network with high downtime.
They 'take the weekend off' instead of being there 7 days a week.

I think you can probably find a few thousand hosts that are better than that... The rider here of course is in cases like this, you get what you pay for... :)

wholly idiots, I wonder why companies out there will hire those idiots. My SSI counter script is not working due to their stupid server restriction, then I send them an email to ask what should I do in order to have the script works out of normal. After a day, they reply 'you script will not work'!!! nothing else! don't Join them, really, they're not support at all!!! However, I did figure out myself and now is working~ HOHOHOO, those stupid asses!

vincentnmf,

I think it`s just a few college guys running the place cause it`s always that one young guy who answers the phone. And when they put you on hold, the music they have playing while your on hold is some hoochie mama type strip club music. The last time i was put on hold....your not gonna believe this.....they were playing "i like big butt`s and i cannot lie". And then the "show me that thong" music came on. And after that a lil`country song came on. It plays little segments of each video over and over again. Call and you see what i`m talking about. :)

yeah that`s funny...i wouldn`t be surprised if they did.

Jeez, i almost feel sorry for them, we`ve liked totally wripped on them. But jeez, it really was an un-pleasant hassle hosting a site there. And that one dude lied right to my face assuming i was stupid and wouldn`t know the difference. Several times a week something wouldn`t work or my site would be really reeeaaally slow.

yah, I agree. what unlimited bandwidth, all bull****s! my plan got 8GB bandwidth, is down almost everyday. they're now currently down too, all my sites and I think others' sites are down together with their stupid server now. u can check now~ haha, I think all those technical support pictures that shown on their site are fake, looks professional, but isn't, all liers~

Anyway, frosty, where are u from? what's ur webpage about? if u want low price host with high reliability, try hostsave.com. If u don't need much diskspace, 30MB, they're really gd in support and up time.

oh, i live in Florida, Wellington (horse community).
The website i had at iic was just a personal site which isn`t even half done yet. But my other site is a reseller site. So i keep that site a secret....he he.

But yep, ya see, i told you down-time at iic is just incredible. keep your site there for a couple more weeks and check your site often and you`ll see what happens. I`ve never seen anything like it. And if you clear your cache/temporary internet folder and check your site, then you`ll really see just how slow it is. Check out casahosting.com, i think they may be good.
