Hello

After transferring my domain to another host i lost my value added services to change DNS .. and now as i am changing to a new host it's sending stupid replies saying

==============================================We have received your request to modify the domain name
record listed above. However, we are unable to process it at
this time because we cannot verify its authenticity.
==============================================

I tried MAIL-FROM and did email from the one which i registered the domain with..but i have to call them everytime to do it.. It's costing me more money calling them and waiting for them to pick the phone up then monthly hosting.

Can anyone help me out :)

thanks

Which registrar did you use?

network solutions... i like their other system which lets me change the DNS but as i changed hosts as i said earlier the only way i can change is through forms...

If you will fax them they will change it. Fax is about the only way if they say they can't verify the authenticity. That is why I moved all of my domains to Dotster.

I would suggest you change registrars as soon as possible. You'll find it much nicer with a control panel, and it'll be cheaper.

I recommend Dotster.com. But there are a LOT of good and cheap ones out there!

yeah i changed my site to another registrar... what's the use in being with people who get you into so much trouble in changing stuff, when the only thing that should be needed is some basic authentication stuff like username password ... i spent more money on my phone calls to US then on my 6 months hosting in total :(

I personally like joker.com the best. They just introduced a new control panel that is very easy to use and update DNS with. They charge around $10/year (depends on total sales a month -- it can fluctuate between $9-$12) for a domain. Does anyone have any experience with their reseller program?

I'm not sure if I'd feel comfortable using a registrar with the name of "joker.com". But anyway, I am very happy with register.com. Network Solutions has been going downhill FAST lately. Proven by spending 4+ hours on hold over the past week with them. =(

In order to get your DNS straitened out, if you haven't already is visit https://www.networksolutions.com/en_US/makechanges/fax/hostform.html . Before you fill out the fax, you need to make note of your failed attempt at modifying it and include the tracking number [NIC-xxxxxxxxx] in the blanks at the webpage. They list the fax number. Just fax it on company letterhead, and include your contact info in case they run into a problem. Now since it's Network Solutions we're talking about, expect it to be done in about 2 weeks.

Here is another one I came across -

http://www.godaddy.com

This one is only $8.95/year.

I felt the same way with the joker.com name at first, but they are quite reliable.

I know a few people that use Joker and seems quite happy with them. I've never used them myself, mainly due to a nasty site design rather than their name.

I have two domain's registered to GoDaddy, and can't complain. The sign up was a bit on the long side but the domain resolved fast, and for $8.95 it's one of the cheapest around. I don't register important domains there as yet.
