Well, nowadays, there are many organization provide online backups! But anything is hackable and you really never know if you can completely trust the storage company. Yea they may have a great reputation and be all the rage but so was Bernie Madoff.

:rolleyes: Mark - I wouldnt be so narrow minded, you need to look further into things before you go on what the news tells you...........Most data loss cases you hear about are down to human error, lack of security or inadequate hardware and facilities - not online backup systems that use fully certified, redundant, replicated and protected datacentres.
A good online backup would encrypt (scramble) the data before transit anyway (usually 128/ 256 bit, military spec) It would take you 100's of years to crack these codes and we just dont live that long!
Its a pretty much a fact that online backup is the future and its only going to be a matter of time before everyone jumps on the bandwagon, just like Virtualisation for example.
Currently you may find that it's mostly used by Blue Chip Companies and Government Agencies due to software licensing costs usually putting a good, reliable and efficient solution out of reach for most businesses.
As the market moves forward, more and more enterprise level software solutions (provided mostly in managed services) are becoming available and would provide the end user the same level of market leading software, just at a reduced cost; ultimately utilising the ability to share licensing, vault space etc with the Reseller / Vendor.
This kind of solution is now available and affordable for all business types, whether you are looking to backup 20GB of business critical data or your entire network of multiple TB's
