IIS5.1 has emerged

I've heard on a couple of sources (iisanswers and buqtraq) that Microsoft have an IIS5.1 which will only run on XP. Here we go again - another upgrade and a new tranche of security holes and bugs :shake:

Or have I been using MS products for too long ?

Wonderful..... once again they plot on making people upgrade..... oh, well.... maybe people will realize the flaws....

I found out some more on this from a Microsoft meeting. IIS5.1 will not run on Win2K. They have a tradition of linking IIS versions to OS versions so IIS5.1, which will probably be IIS6.0 will only run on Whistler (or XP server which current has no name !). Or perhaps something imaginative like Windows XP Advanced Server !

I'll give it a year for everyone else to debug it, then I'll take a look :lol:
