what in the world is happening!

Is this not the strangest thing ever: I just viewed my site and all of my text has shrunk for no reason!
All of the text on my site is supposed to be a size 3, but all of a sudden it has shrunk down to a size 2! It`s totally screwed up the way my site looks. And it`s only happened to my site.

Has anyone ever even heard of something like this? how can it be that my font size 3 has shrunk all the way down to a font size 2? oh my god.......i hate computers, this is hell.

Did you change the default font size in your browser?

Did you add the size attribute to your font tags?

If you give us the URL we can check it out.

i just found out that my site is only destorted on my computer, not anyone else`s.

For some really really odd reason all the text on my site has shrunk down to a size two even though i have it in html code to be a size 3. I haven`t touched, edited or done anything to my site at all for the past week. I haven`t changed the default size on my computer, and only my site`s font size has all of a sudden changed. All other site`s are normal looking.

I use "coffeecup HTML editor" where i make all of my site`s from scratch in, i think something seriously wrong has happened to that software. Because my site looks desorted when i preview my site in that program as well. An hour ago, it was perfectly fine. I have`nt touched a thing since then and now all of a sudden all my text is a size 2 even when i write font size=3. I`m un-installing that garbage program i payed 50 bucks for. For some reason, when i tell it to make my font size 3, it`ll show up as a size 2. And i haven`t upload anything for over a week now, so i don`t understand why my site chnaged on the internet? why am i always the unlucky one? and i`d give you my URL but i`m a reseller so i don`t wanna reveal my url. i`ve now flipped-out....

Hey Frosty,

Chill (he he he) my friend  . It sounds like it was your browser settings. It may have been that can accidently reduced your text display size by holding down the [Ctrl] key and using the wheel on a wheel mouse.

If you have any more problems you can always email me off the forums and I will be more then happy to look into it for you.

Tommy

no, it`s only my website that has completely changed without me even touching it. Every website i view looks normal except for mine. I haven`t touched my site in over a week, but when i viewed my site on AOL and IE all the text on my site has shrunk down to a size 2. This has completely rearranged everything on my site and everything is out of place because of how the text size shrunk. When i view my source code it says font size=3 but everything is still showing up as a tiny font size 2. So i decided to view my site off line as well. I use "coofee cup HTML" editor so i viewed my site there and every single page is screwed up there too. And when i open a blank page insde the html editor to try to write a sentence using a font size 3, and then preview it, it`ll show up as a font size 2!

i think this software program has something seiously wrong with it all of a sudden. It`s simply changing all of my text on my site down to a size 2 no matter what i tell it to do. And it`s even managed to alter my text size online when i haven`t even uploaded anything in over a week. I`m going to the library right now to check to see if my site is also completely screwed up on every other computer as well. I hope it`s only messed up on mine. I really hate technolgy and why the hell does all this incredibly strange technical crap always have to happen to me?
I mean, has your html editor ever decided to take over your site (and ruin it) by changing all of your text on your site to a small size 2?

ok, I'm confused now. Let me know how it looks down at the library.

jeez, i just got back from the library and when i checked my site at the library it looked perfectly fine. So my site is only messed up on my computer. This is the strangest thing ever:

Yesterday i viewed my site on the net (just for fun) and it looked fine, then i went to webhostdir and read some posts, then i went into the kicthen to get some junk food to eat, then i read some more posts and then went back to my site to look at it again and all of a sudden ALL the text on my entire website shrunk into a tiny size 2 and this rearranged my site and was totally messed up looking. But every other site on the net looks perfectly fine. I have no clue why my site changed itself like that. I think my html editor (which is where i make my site from scratch in) is messed up and has chnaged my site`s text all by itself. i`m calling the people who made this peice of crap software. have you ever heard of anything like this happening before? very very weird.

Just got one final question!
My computer is a huge disaster. But does anyone here know of a good html editor with a built in FTP? Because i was using "coffeecup html editor" but i think that software has screwed up my site. Not only that, but the sales manager who works there is a complete bitch (i won`t tell story). I make all of my sites from scratch using HTML. So i just need a program where i can type all of my html into a blank page, preview it, save it, and then upload it. But i don`t know of a good easy one to use since i`m not going to use the coffecup one anymore. what do you guys use? :)

i ask too many questions.........

I use Dreamweaver 3 myself.. might not be what you're looking for if you're in the market for a cheap raw editor though. It does write some nice code though, and it a mighty fine bit of program.

If you're interested in a pretty powerful straight coder however there is a free one available that I'd always found makes buying anything short of Dreamweaver pointless. :)

http://www.chami.com/html-kit/ <-- HTML-Kit.

There's not much it won't do..

We're using Allaire Homesite 4 and MS Interdev for HTML and ASP scripting. Homesite is good for HTML scripting and gives you tag prompts. It also has a built in FTP client.

Interdev is good for advanced development. It sounds like Notepad is that safest tool for you. It won't change your code when you're not looking

;)

thankx for the recommendations. I swear this i my last question: (what happend to the ecommerce section on this forum, its disappeared?) I just found out that the merchant account i signed up for charges $20 for each chargeback that would ever happen? Is that a very bad price? Because i didn`t even think i needed to worry about chargebacks because i thought it only happens very rarely, but now i just found out that chargebacks are common in webhosting because there are customers out there who are jerks and do chargebacks to scam a company so they don`t have to pay for the service they received. So is this true? Do you guys get customers who do chargebacks?

that`s ridiculous that i would be penalized and would be charged 20 bucks just because one of my customers is an a**hole and does a chargeback just so he doesn`t have to pay..... :(

If you just want a normal text editor with a TON of features, I've been using EditPlus, it's the only one I need.

If you buy it, be sure to download some of the many user files as well...I wrote the SMIL one :)

ViSiOnZ 2k1,

Once i`ve typed all of my HTML into a blank page using notepad, how the heck do i preview what that page would look like?

Here's what ya do...

File > Save As > webpage.html

Don't save the file without adding the ".html" on the end. Notepad will think it is a regular text document if you do. IE, Netscape or anything else won't know to read it as HTML and you'll get just text. Hope this helps.
