View Full Version : Domain Changes

A host had registered a domain name for me. At a whois I see: Registrar: ABC (not real name); Registrant: ME; Administrative Contact: ME; Technical Contact: THE HOST (not real name); Record expires 20-Feb-2003.
Name Server: NS1.-----, NS2.-----.

I want to change the Registrar, Technical Contact and the Name Servers.

Would it be best if I contacted the current Registrar and changed the Technical Contact and Name Servers. Then later (how much later?) change to another Registrar?

Or would it be best to transfer my domain to another Registrar. Then later, change the Technical Contact and the Name Servers?

Or can all this be done at the same time?

Thanks for your assistance.

As far as changing registrar goes, you should do that immediately, you ususally want to give yourself a few weeks just in case something comes up.

If changing the nameservers and contact is vital, do it prior to the transfer, usually during a transfer, you are not allowed to edit anything until it is all over with. It all depends on your needs.

Hope this helped!
