Okay, you all have been there. When you first started your hosting company, how did you advertise?
Which ways did you find worked best for the money?
Thank you all for your input,

Difficult for me not to be biased when replying to this one but here goes...lets see if my will power holds out....
The best site I've come across that give unbiased advice on a wide range of online marketing systems is www.marketingexperiments.com
They actually run tests on the major sites and provide feedback on sales conversions etc.
After you?ve given them a look, I'd suggest you registered your site with the major web hosting directories. There are a lot out there now so be careful before actually spending any of your money. A good place to find side by side comparisons is www.hostdirs.com (not owned or operated by us). Just be careful whose stats you believe and whose you don?t.
I'd personally recommend you try registering for free with -
www.HostSearch.com
www.TopHosts.com
www.thewhir.com - not sure if its only paid entry now
www.ispcheck.com
and what the heck you have to give us a try too www.webhostdir.com you can register for free at https://members.webhostdir.com
I'd then go through the usual submissions to search engines, being careful what you pay for and what you don?t. Not all are worth the dollars they now charge.
You then might want to think about submitting yourself for interview to any directory that excepts submissions. They love the content and it gives you excellent exposure all for free. You'll also notice that many of the directories are willing to publish articles you might have written, again this can provide a really useful way of showing customers how knowledgeable your company is within a specific product or service.
Hope this helps for starters.
