Can someone make any suggestions to a 2checkout.com type service - that's not 2checkout.com?

Does anyone here know the merchant business well enough to take a guess at what perentage of their 5% fees they are keeping and what they are paying the merchant service?

Personally I would vouch for SecureTrading or WorldPay.
Securetrading http://www.securetrading.com
I have used SecureTrading for about 3 years now with both their HTML and XML/JAVA API service.
They support PayBox via the JAVA API, and the support is fantastic.

WorldPay http://www.worldpay.com
WorldPay is very good if your bank won't give you FULL merchant status.

Another to check out is: http://www.paysystems.com
Just like 2checkout with a slightly lower fee. I've heard of good things about them. Good luck!

another thumbs up for paysystems. While we've had the odd issue here and there it's nothing I'd say was a serious problem. We've used them for over three years and are pretty happy with the results.

Yeah, I think PaySystems is what you're looking for. You might also consider a full merchant account (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=175347&highlight=CDG) so you can do variable charges/upgrades. Not all of them are expensive.

Does Paysystems.com require you to have perfect credit?

Sorry for bringing up a rather dated thread. Apparently everyone?s recommending paysystems here. Too bad they've gone out of business, huh?
Anyway, I guess I should make my recommendation now, I use ikobo for almost a year now and I'm pleased with their service. Guess this is it. :D

P.S. Oh yeah, if you need more details don't be a stranger. I'm not gonna list them now since I may be accused of spamming or something. Cheers!

You can't find lower rates than www.echo-inc.com. They give you the first 5 chargebebacks for free per month. This is a real-deal merchant account, not a third-party solution.

Well compared to the 0$ setup fee and 0$ montly fee I'm paying now, the $99 Setup / $19.95 per month your spamm... ahem, sorry, talking about seems a little steep. Wouldn't you agree?

Hey theodore, are you saying my post was spam? That would be like me advertising bank of america. Echo is so huge they dont need me advertising for them. Also there is no 19.95 per month fee and I'm sure the per transaction fees and discount rate are MUCH lower than what your paying. May I ask what merchant your using so I can compare?

Thank you

I think that he is using the same service that I use and this is ikobo.com. As I said in other posts, they are improving their services every month, they are reliable and cheap. It is the only service I use both for merchant and p2p transfers.

I was only making a little joke. To me that's the way it seemed. Sorry.
Well, right now I'm paying 2.99%+29 cents per transaction. To me it seems quite good, especially since I get cover over in my country. So far I'm satisfied with what I've got.
Oh yeah, apparently sahtabir is right, I am using ikobo.

I am sorry Theodore, I am new to forums and was not sure how to take your post.

Since we have been with echo for over 3 years our rates have gone down to 2.35% plus 18 cents. The free chargebacks save you alot also. No matter how hard you try to prevent them you still wind up with a couple.

Have a nice day.

theodore

No problem, this would be another reason for which I thought what I did (you being new I mean).
Indeed those rates sound good, but you got those after three years and I can't wait that long. I need low rates now and what I'm paying right now I think falls into that category so I don't thing I'll be moving away too soon. :)

You can check out www.Shareit.com

Some of the web hosting companies listed on www.HostMarker.com are using their services and they are pretty satisfied with the service they are getting.

It looks like Shareit is for software developers but they accept all sorts of online businesses as far as I know.

theodore

I did check it and you're right it does appear to be only for software developers, something I most certainly am not. Also I'm not to happy with the monthly payment solution. I suppose once you get used to receiving the payments the moment it's been done as with ikobo, it's kinda hard to have to wait for the month. :)
Oh yeah.. and their fees, come one 14.9% Now that is A LOT!

I heard something about linklok for ikobo. It's a simple and fast service for selling software programs. Should anyone has tested them, please post here about it. Thanks.

theodore
Feb 1st, 2005, 07:57 AM
You mean it's something similar to this shareit thing? I hope it's cheaper than them otherwise it's not very attractive. Anyway, this type of specifically aimed business, in this case aimed at software developers, is quite an idea. Just wish the prices would drop. ;)

sahtabir
Feb 1st, 2005, 08:55 AM
I didn't have the time to thoroughly study or compare them BUT my first guess is that linklok for ikobo is much simpler and it would be a great tool for junior software developers who work independently (freelancers).

www.shareit.com looks like a merchant for software developers only but it is not... some of our listed hosting companies use shareit.com for charging their customers' accounts...

I see, well I suppose it would be worth taking a closer look, although 14.9% for transaction fees is I think the industry's highest fee. I could be wrong, but I don't think I've seen something more expensive than this. Eh well, I suppose their services are extraordinary, right? I mean why would someone pay that when they could go somewhere like ikobo or paypal and pay a fraction of that fee. Does this shareit offer some sort of ATM card to facilitate quick access to the money?

Wow, only moneygram exceeds this kind of fee. :good:
Doesn't matter if they offer any sort of ATM card or any other similar services. ikobo has 2.9%, paypal has 2.9%, 2co has 5.5%. Why would I even think of signing up with a service that practically leaves my pockets empty with it's 14.9% expensive fee?? :shake:

As far as I know, www.Shareit.com charges to you $2.95 + 4% of the transaction value.

14.9% must be a wrong value !!!

Please do not include in every post that you make, the URL of the company you are SPAMMING for. I never heard of that service and 4% is still a higher fee compared to the ones I mentioned before. :bad:

Maybe so... but then, what's this supposed to be?

How much does share-it! cost?

share-it! works on a commission basis. In other words, after licensing your program, we retain a service charge of either USD/EUR* 2.95 + 5% (Pricing Model A) or 14.9% but no less than USD/EUR* 2.50 (Pricing Model B) and ) and forward the remaining amount to you. Pricing models can be set individually for each product. There are no monthly or recurring fees for using share-it!, so using this service is completely risk-free! Click here to see our current fee schedule.
* USD or EUR are chosen depending on which depending currency is used on your share-it! statements
This is taken from here (https://secure.shareit.com/shareit/faq.html?sessionid=179460541&random=64b80a6928154aa64909d47d94440516#1939), so I'm not making this up you know. Call me crazy, but this is what I understand from it.

paysystems.com is definately a winner in payment processing

theodore
Feb 5th, 2005, 01:13 AM
Hmm, I've found the following review while searching for info regarding paysystems. What I couldn't find (and I did a little searching on their website) is their fees. They kept saying competitive fees, custom rates and so on, but no actual values. Are there hidden costs involved and that's why they're not telling? Anyway, here's what I've found:

To whom it may concern,

I've had an awful experience with a merchant account company called
Paysystems (http://www.paysystems.com). Everything from the
(unmentioned) holdback charge where they hold about 6% of your sales
for 6 months to the 11 weeks of having my money and not paying me.
Plus, their customer service is terrible. Every time I call, I have
to go over my entire issue with them. It's like they don't keep
anything in the computer.

Their customer service system has big trouble with letting you talk to
a supervisor. Plus, they don't generally allow you to speak to the
Settlements department. I spoke to them once, but it was a miracle.

Paysystem's settlements ONLY go on Thursdays. If there is a problem
with something, they don't care and they won't make a settlement on a
different day. You'll have to wait a week.

Right now, they are holding a lot of my money. Their system wouldn't
work with my business savings account. Someone should have been able
to diagnose this problem far sooner than they did. I called my bank
and Paysystems many times and nothing worked; each time, I waited a
week in between attempted settlements, of course.

They were finally able to make a single settlement into a different
bank account. However, the customer service agent promised me that I
could email him Friday with the results of the attempted settlement
and he would immediately make ALL of the other settlements that
bounced back. Well, he was nowhere to be found last Friday. Now,
it's Tuesday and I still haven't heard a word from him.

In short, Paysystems deserves two big thumbs down. They would NEVER
be able to conduct business like this in America and get away with it.
Things are obviously MUCH looser in Canada. If you need a merchant
account, then look elsewhere.

sahtabir

paysystems.com is definately a winner in payment processing

No, paysystems is definitively a looser. Nobody is using them anymore. They are going down for sure.
There is an interesting article on sitepoing also where former paysystems customers share their bad experiences with others. Also, somebody who is living in the same city where paysystems has their HQ says and I quote:
"paysystems sucks ***
they from the same city i am from, and those guys are crooked as hell, its all a scam that place, i know ppl who work there and they tell me themselves to not get a merchant account with them since they all lost, what a useless company ........."

I for one never used them, but my advice is to stay away from them. I know I will.

theodore
Feb 7th, 2005, 12:49 PM
Wow, that bad huh? I mean, paysystems didn't sound that good to me, but if what you say is true than it's pretty bad and everyone who wants to sign-up with them should be made aware of these practices. Again, IF this is true.. it may not be.

sahtabir
Feb 7th, 2005, 12:54 PM
I only quoted but I think it is true because there are many who practically hate paysystems.
You can do a google search or better go to sitepoint and ask them about paysystems

theodore
Feb 8th, 2005, 10:45 AM
OK, ok, I believe you, not need to get upset... although I will go take a look for myself about this whole paysystems "mess". I'll first go to sitepoint and see what they say over there about them. Nice community there, it's actually the place I've learned about ikobo. :)
