I'm looking for an inexpensive, dedicated server with cPanel. Does anyone know of any companies that offer these kind of services for first-time web hosts?

I have been running a website through http://anhosts.com for a while now. They offer great prices and cpanel comes with every hosting package.
Soon they will be offering dedicated servers starting at $99 and I believe it will be another $50/month for cpanel. The quote I got is for 135 GB monthly bandwidth.
Also http://serverbeach.com has some nice dedicated packages.

I think you should seriously consider looking at a higher priced managed solution if you're a 'first time host'. While CPanel is a great tool there's quite a bit to do on a server that CPanel can't help you with.

Do you have a budget in mind?

You might want to look at www.nocster.com They have servers with Cpanel (for low prices) and do manage the services.

Also, for a higher price you might want to look at www.theplanet.com They have managed servers, albeit, more expensive.

I agree the last couple of people - quality costs money and managed services would be best if just starting out.

If you don't really need a dedicated may want to consider an oversized reseller account if you want to keep expenses low.

Check out www.onestop.net. They have pretty good dedicated server plans.

Do not make the mistake of hosting with rackshack. They managed to lose my HD after a restore. My support ticket was open for more then 3 days, they don't seem to be able to read the entire ticket (only the parts they want to).

I had over a year in my business and rackshack managed to kill it in 3 days.

Everyone is having some sort of bad experience with some BIG service providers. No one is 100% reliable, if you checkout their TERMS or AUPs thoroughly then you'll definetely think that they are fooling us by securing themselves by all the ways.

But this doesn't mean that they are not reliable. They are still very much reliable as few other ordinary dedicated service providers(actually reselling servers from some other BIG companies) are very risky.

Few of good Dedicated service providers are :

www.rackshack.net
www.serverbeach.com
www.nocster.com

You might want to check out Zipa.com - I host with them and I know that they offer dedicated hosting. I think they also have a pre-designed control panel interface for reseller accounts....Their customer support rocks!

Look for a host that offers the WHM cpanel, this is really the way to go, it makes it a no brainer for any newbie to run their own dedicated box and/or reseller account. You get full control over it, and you'll love the ease of being able to add accounts, packages and it's own built in set of cpanels on the fly. On average, it takes me longer to read the hosting account request then it does to set up the account.

We don't offer Cpanel, but its worth a look better prices then all those places and good tech support.

**mod edit**
No self promotion please. You can setup a 'signature' with your company url.

How about servermatrix.com ?

They seem to offer dedicated servers starting from $59 without setup fees ?

Just letting you know, you can ignore my post supporting csi-hosting, they really screwed me over both with paying for my work and the owner needs to grow up and get with the program big time. I had some problems getting the reverse dns to work correctly, contacted the master tech to handle it, and the owner was supposed to simply respond to get them, so all accounts were and are not able to send email to aol members, in fact many sites never resolved due to other issues. I highly suggest you take a hard look at what ever hosting company you go with.

The problem is, C panel is quite costly and incurrs a monthly fee of $50 us dollars or so. There are hosts which offer C panel. However, the pricing will reflect these charges.

It maybe worth considering the slightly more longhanded Webmin which of course is free and supplied with most current Linux distro's from the box.

I am happy to be contacted if you need more direct help on this.

I have seen hosts offerring WHM/CPanel for as low as $8.95, 10, or 11. Most charge $15 (as managed.com) or 20 (as servermatrix). But to incur $ 48 or 50 every month for a CPanel is viable only if this generous offer comes with FANTASTICO and full-managed support.

FDCServers.net offers Cpanel for an additional $9.00 I think.

QUOTE]

I would remove Rackshack.net (now known as EV1Servers.net)
I have had some poor experiences with them in the past few months...

The same server had to have a restore 2 times in less than 2 months - Hard Drive Failures, and even worse a single CPU box was given the incorrect Kernal causing downtime daily.

Since they have grown - their support and just general customer service is lacking.

Just my 2 cents.
