This might not be the place for this, but I know many web hosters visit this forum, so I thought it would be a good idea, and anyone else that has an opinion.
My question is this. I have found this statistic web site, offers web site statistics for their customers, actually an old one. Now, when people go check their stats, there is a banner on top and bottom, same one. Now, the people that are visiting the stats, are people with web sites. So, I thought about putting a banner up on the site, where the current banner is at. However, this is the requirements:
CPC: $0.15 - Minimum of 20,000 clicks (Cost per click) = $3,000. Now, this is my thinking:
If your banner is really straight to the point such as need web hosting, then people that aren't interested wont click on it? As
it is hard as it is trying to get people to click on ads these days period. So if people are actually clicking on them, then wouldn't they be interested, or they wouldn't be wasting their time right?
You would think that clicks would be the most accurate way to advertise, if that site doesn't have a bunch of competitors coming to it racking up your bill like goto.com. Since that site isn't, and only has one banner, kinda funny, then the people that click on them, should be targeted. But I'm curious, I don't want to spend the $3,000 and get suckie results. I don't think that will happen, but you never know, I don't think I have good luck! Not with web hosting advertising anyways. :( But then again, this could do wonders, but if it did, why isn't there any other web hosting company on it? (Maybe they haven't found it?)
What do you all think? I know some of those sites might not be targeted because they will never get a host, they have a web site, but wont need one, but you are paying PER CLICK, not CPM.
What do you think????
Thanks
