Hi,
after several years hosting a server with cybercon.com, i've just signed up for a new server with Ezzi.Net (mainly thanks to the reccomendations i found on this forum). it's all going pretty well but, whereas cybercon supplied a primary and secondary DNS for me, EZZI require me to set up the primary on my own server.

To be honest, I really don't want to learn that much about DNS. I just want to be able to configure the server to run multiple (approx 50) domain names for web and email.

I've been through a couple of atricles on the microsoft KB but, boy, they are heavy going. Does anyone have any reccomendations on setting this up in the most basic and efficient manner?

Also, Active Directory looks to be a good option for DNS but will it upset anything else on the server such as databases or the email server.

Any help gratefully received.

Microsoft DNS is a breeze provided you get it right to begin with.

Get hold of a copy of Mastering Windows 2000 Server by Mark Minasi. Its got an excellent explanation of setting up DNS in it. Its backed up by a technical forum also which is really helpful:

Its not necessary to use Active Directory and it doesn't actually make things any easier.
