I have a website that is hosted by a very inexpensive web hosting company. Dingojunction.com, I want to continue to host my site on there server but I want to register my domain name, they do not have that option any more. I am considering the many registrars out there but I am unsure which one, yet. My concern is I want my domain name to point to my website while keeping the domain name correct. I am unsure if "cloaking" or "masking" are the only ways to allow that. I have seen some talk about using the nameserver settings from my hosting company for my registrars nameserver settings, what if I do not have any way of finding the nameserver settings? My host has not answered my request for help so far and I am very anxious to get my web site up and running with my domain name.

Can anyone give me some insight into which is the best way to handle this problem? I would like www.mydomain.com to point to my website as well as www.mydomain.com/another_directory/ to point to my website/another_directory/ is that even possible?

Thank you for helping me,
Larry:confused:

Hi,

Perhaps I can help. Go to our site: www.discountdomainsuk.com select the WHOIS option and enter your domain name. This will show your 2 DNS settings - primary and secondary.

DNS setting changes are normally used to point a domain name to its own website ( ie one built to work with that domain name). Normally domain registrar such as ours offer web-forwarding services to direct traffic from a domain name to an existing site.

If you need further help use the contact us on our site.

I appreciate your help, that would have helped me except my domain host at that time suddenly "disappeared" I can no longer get to any of their sites, including mine. It was nice of them to keep my FTP up so I could grab all of my data but the web addresses for them have all disappeared. Oh well, good for a couple of years, would have been nice to get a notice though. Enough ranting, Thank you again for your help.
