I think Dream Weaver is the most popular by far and it is pretty easy.
I also like EditPlus and have used that for years, but its not as easy as DreamWeaver.
I think of EditPlus as a fancy version of notepad :D
You can find it here

My vote is for Digi:Lite (you'll find it at http://digi.ws/digi-lite.php). It permits to edit both PHP and HTML and view it all in WYSIWYG mode. Very simple but professional. Actually I found it easier than Dream Weaver (and several times cheaper). Besides it is integrated with Plesk and Ensim. Highly recommend it.

We been designing sites using DreamWeaver, Golive, NotePad, Frontpage and to tell you the truth it does not really matter. Whatever you can afford.
Frontpage makes loads of extra code that is not needed.
Dreamweaver makes very clean code and it is good for programmers such as PHP programmers etc.
GoLive is a next big thing because Photoshop CS is really all about working fast with graphics and the best tool to use with photoshop CS is GoLive.
Frontpage is good for managing pages, better than pretty much anything else. It is also very easy to learn it. You can have a web site up running in no time.
With dreamweaver everything is not that much intuitive but you get used to it.
So yeah it really does not matter but my vote is DreamWeaver.
For free editor I heard that AceBit has something good there.

I use an HTML editor called HTML Kit and I like it a lot. It has support for HTML, jsp, asp, gives tag completes among other things. For a look at it go to www.download.com and look up HTML-Kit. Also with HTML-kit you can basically save in any file extension you want. From Cold fussion to JSP to SQL.

MacroMedia DreamWeaver has split-screen ability, so it can perform as a WYSIWYG and "notepad" style editor. It has template abilities, has the ability to verify your code, show you where errors are, and has some nice built in documentation (reference) for CSS, HTML, etc.

I would like to find a decent website/html editor. I don't mind paying a little bit for it, but I don't want to spend a lot. I understand the basics of html, but a WYSIWYG interface would be best. Perhaps the best thing would be something that has customizable templates. I don't mind online web-creation services as long as they don't lock me into using their servers to host it. I already have a friend with a server who will host it for me.

Dreamweaver squeaked out the top spot in my best editors, beating Microsoft Expression Web by just a few points. The most significant differences between the two were that Dreamweaver has the ability to do minor image editing (resize, crop, etc) right in the editor and it comes with a CSS validator. These two products have very comparable feature sets, but Dreamweaver still maintains a lead in the professional market.

First off, I generally prefer SQL Server over Access, since it's more predictable. In my experience, a good piece of Access guruship (and I'm NOT an Access guru, just an advanced acolyte) has to do with knowing all sorts of obscure workarounds to funny behavior, version conflicts, etc.
I use VB6 also because it's what I know. Most C++ programmers who learn VB6 use it whenever they can, which is not always. ASP is for web page interfaces, so if you want your front end to be hosted by a web browser (an increasingly more popular UI standard), you'll have to use it. Unless, you decide to go into .Net....

You can write HTML in MS Word or you can use the tools on your hosting provider. HTML editors come in two flavors: text editors and "what you see is what you get" editors. Your choice of editor will be influenced by what you want to do. HTML editors range in price from free to several hundred dollars. There are good editors in every price range.

PSPad is by far the best for any type of coding.You can access your files on a website directly through its high-and FTP client and save them directly on the site. more if there is still a language that you want code that does not support, theres a lot of extensions that you can choose.

I make the template in PS, add the images, and then use the slice tool, which separates all the different slices into different images. With this, I can now import it into DreamWeaver, and it's already a web page, so with each slice, I can assign a link.

Web editors are tools that help you build Web pages using HTML and CSS. They can be WYSWIYG or text and they can have dozens of features or be very simple. A great Web editor:
* Edits HTML (either WYSIWYG or not)
* Edits CSS
* Uploads pages to a Web host
* Is easy to use
* Provides good value for the price
