QUESTION-

Have now heard bad things about these people- & now they seem to have disappeared altogether.
HOW can we get our domain name (www.jacobsonengineering.com)
Freed-up so that we may re-host and get it back up?

INTERNIC doesnt seem to have a 'technical' contact-

Looks like ebusiness-sap.com registered it. I would say to contact ICANN and enter into domain name dispute resolution.

It may cost you some money and you may win the domain back.

Your domain was Created on: 17-Feb-04 & Expires on: 17-Feb-05. chances are the current owner will let the domain expire and in which case go to http://godaddy.com and put a backorder on the name so when it does expire you should get it.

You also can register your domain with .us , .net , .name and .ws extensions.

Per ICANN rules the domain name registerant must have contact information in place for public contact. complain to godaddy.com you cannot contact registrant who owns your domain name.

It seems from our investigations content from our sites has been plagarised by this organization. we will be contacting them and would imagine we will consider bringing action for breach of our copyright.

If others have greivences it may be logical to consider a class action in this instance.

I was looking at your post.
We are also a domain registrar & hosting company.

Who ever registered your domain has placed themselves as the domain admin contact. I posted a similar post on this form in regards to these domain registrars placing themselves as the domain admin contact. This means they control your domain. If you ever have to retreive your domain passwords or make changes to your domain, like move it to a more reliable host and do this quickly .. well the requests to do this would be sent to the admin contact below, and if their email does not work, it usually taks days to finally get this info changed, which causes a nightmare for your site would be down.

We always make sure our customers are listed as the contact.
I tell my customers, sounds odd but I say "what if I go out of business? Your site would go down and you would have no access to your domain!" This is why you should be the domain admin contact.

Appears you are saying it is your host that is causing the problem?

If so, you should just be able to change your nameservers to your new host at your registrar but would need to reupload your content to the new server if the present data is unavailable. You would need to acquire a new host then contact the registrar (where you purchased your domain) with the new nameservers if you are unsure how to change them. If your host is your registrar that could cause problems and it may just be easier to purchase a new domain for the short term unless you have much funds into advertising.
