Just wanted to ask: which of the web host with no monthly fees (i.e. one-off charges for lifetime webhosting) that the people on this forum would recommend? Have you had a good/bad experience with any of them?

The ones I am considering are:

http://nomonthly.com/
http://nomonthlyfees.com/
and
http://www.nomonthly.co.uk/

Are there any others you know of?

Thanks very much for your help :)

nomonthlyfees is the only one I have heard of out of that list. As far as I know they are ok. Just keep in mind you get what you pay for so if you're going to go for a cheap one off payment you may regret it later. Just my 2c of course.

TJW - it's not very helpful you saying 'nomonthly' is the only one you've heard of. All three are called 'nomonthly' :) He he he...

sorry!

What I meant was nomonthly.com. I've seen them advertise on this site over the last 2 months.

I hosted with nomonthlyfees and was so dissatisfied after only a month I had to get my money back, and even that involved a LOT of hassle. Their tech support was slow and considerably rude, and I was generally quite unhappy. I looked around for similar offers, and also came accross nomonthly.com and nomonthly.co.uk. The .com package was a little small and didn't appeal to what I was looking for, and if I wanted to upgrade it would have cost a monthly fee, which seemed to contradict what they tell you - with the whole pay once, not once per month thing. So, I gave .co.uk a shot on their free trial and had absolutely no problems at all. Their support was good, and they were REALLY helpful and polite on the phone. The only bad thing i'd say about them is that they do not offer a dedicated IP address included with the package, but other than that it seems great, and I am more than happy a few months down the line, and have since opened up several other accounts with them.

Hope that helps!
