As you might have noticed I've been getting the hosts that use this forum to register their info at:

Maybe what is needed is a larger number of initial members. I could always change their profiles so that they can view this private forum. I'm sure that might generate more interest.
Phoenix what do you think?

If you want my opinion (I'm guessing not). Of course any organization that wishes to set the standards for an entire industry will need more than the dozen or so members we have now. However, I was under the assumption this was a planning committee and that we already had enough members to plan this organization. Too many people on the board makes for a slow moving body as I'm sure everyone is aware of, but please invite them to join as members/partners/associates/etc...just perhaps not planners.
Regards.

Good point.
More commitment needed from us who are allready members of the planning committee I think.

I didnt mean to sound like i was only asking Phoenix ;) You make a good point, and I have to agree with you. I was just trying to inject a little more momentum during vacation time.

More momentum is definitely needed.
I think what we need is more active members. A list of 100 is all well and good but like I said, more commitment is required. The turn out for the name vote was pretty low. Could this be attributed to voter apathy :)

what do you mean "voter apathy", it's not like one person's vote really matters anyway....:D

Statistically speaking, forums generally only have around 10% contrubuting members. Which probably explains the lack of activity.

What we may have to do is prune the committee membership and start issuing invitations to join, because we do need an interested group who wants to participate, especially once the committees get started. Each chair can then recruit more committee members as needed and then the membership will grow.
The problem with making this forum more widely visible is that there are a number of people who don't like the thought of a trade organization and then there would be plenty of activity on the forum, but it would be largely trolls and flames.
