Hi All!

Sorry if I seem to be hogging this board, but I've been told that "the only stupid question is a question not asked"! I tend to agree with that!

Here goes:

I'm slowly building my subscriber list for my newsletter, but I'd sure love to be able to give my readers something more than just a Word document - that just doesn't cut it!

Anyone know first-hand how to make a newsletter look pretty much the same as a web page, but still have it automatically display in the reader's new message window? (ie. that great-looking newsletter from Macromedia - extreme I know, but I plan to get there!)

Do I have to purchase some special software for this? Or do I use HTML again??

Any input would be great - thanks!

Basically you need to use HTML to create your newsletter. Then send it as normal.

If you are linking to images within your design make sure they are available online for others else they will not be able to view them when reading the newsletter.

The biggest limitation is that not all clients can receive HTML email. All of the big programs do, but smaller programs such as Pegasus don't. If you have many AOL users, they won't be able to see it at all.

We use a tool called GammedyneMailer which will send both HTML and text newsletters to the subscribers.

If you use HTML, don't go hog wild with the graphics. They tend to slow down loading, and many times people with slow connections will just delete the message.

Hi Tommy,
I've been trying to find the tool "GammedyneMailer" that you've mentioned, but couldn't find it. Searched in Yahoo, Google, etc already. Could you tell me where I can get this tool? Thanks in advance.

Sorry :)

I think it was in the region of $89. We link it up to a SQL database for the mailing list. It's a good tool and might be worth investing in if you send a lot of newsletters.
