I want this to be private...so keep it here...please

I recently transferred a site from a person. they wanted me to tell the people that he was getting out of the biz, I am like ok, but if they asked I was going to tell the truth, no reason to lie...
So I do switch the account all the images are messed up..So I have to go and relabel them .jpg or .gif, and there are hundreds...it was 10 megs of pictures...and I then had to reprogram the HTML...

Well I was going to give them another free month of hosting just because it was taking me so long...and so fourth....but then the person I recieved it from was like I think you play around too much, and I have talked to the people and everything is ok...(I am thinking, they tell me that they are cheapskates and so fourth, I dont mind because I dont care what he says)...But they will want to switch back after the 4 months are up...I have no heard from them yet...but I am like did I give you permission to talk to my clients, about this, they are not your clients...but its their choice...

But all the work I put into the site...is pretty much lost...they may or may not be switching...but I feel i should give the site back the way I recieved no since in giving my hard work, or should I. Because the people are nice people, and honest folks, I am trying to help them out...

Any suggestions

I'm not clear on exactly what happened or what the problem is.

If you're saying the host somehow messed up the client's account when they (the host) heard the client wanted to transfer that seems very unethical. Transfers are as common as changing light bulbs.

IMO if you have a clean copy of the client's site and wish to spend the time helping them move it to another host. as long as you're happy with it and there's no contract that says otherwise, go for it.

Why should I give them my cleaned uop copy back to the same guy that messed it up

That's up to you. If you want to be a nice guy you can give them 1 copy and let them know you're only doing it once so they need to be careful with the copy (make their own backup).

yeah I guess...it just makes me mad, the guy wants me to lie for him one minutes to some people he dislikes...then everything is just dandy....

I am just really mad about that...but it happens...maybe, I am not mad that they want to go back...but I am mad that he wants to contact them on something I have worked so hard on...and now the folks wont return my phone calls
