First off let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Kevin and In December of 2005, I started hostlix.com, a free cpanel web hosting company. I built it from the ground up and sold it with an alexa ranking of 169,000 in March 2006 for $2,000, and it's been the biggest regret of my life. I talked with the owner of hostlix.com and today it is making $1,000+ per month and has an even lower alexa ranking. Now I am more determined than ever to make it big in hosting.
I am looking for a business partner with experience in web hosting. I am paying $220 for the server, other fee's that need to be addressed are $30 for server management and $9.95 for ipanel (the software that forces ads)
We will do a 30/70 split and in time up to a 40/60 split.

ipanel is not the best software to use. I would say that you sound like you have a good deal but why do you need a partner with a background like that? Possibly instead look to invest that into another company and just ask for profits? i started with ipanel and realized it was just too elementary. Now i run a modified ModernBill and use htaccess for forced .htaccess ads w/ .htaccess overwrite daily.
edit: I ment this post as just a question and in no way to be offensive. If you are really interested in starting up something new then pm me and lets talk, i have lots of time to develop new projects. Thats what i do for a living as well! Let me know. - Mike

Definatly CAREFUL! I would not just find someone online to partner up with, that can be a dangerous business. I would recomend finding someone you KNOW and TRUST. You never know what or who you may find online. Be sure to use a legaly binding document so that you dont get screwed by your partner as well. Be smart ;-)

Do you need a partner?
Do you really need a partner for the sort of initial investment you need? I'd suggest that getting a partner on board through cyberspace that you don't know from Adam is a pretty risky strategy.
