I think it depends who your audience is.

If you're looking to ship worldwide (or even just outside of India) then a .com is always a good idea as it's an extension that anyone can associate with.

However, if you're just sticking within India when I'd go for the country specific domain - I think it gives the company more of an Indian identity/branding and lets customers know where you're based etc.
