I think you're on the right way for choosing the provider finding aspnix.com reliable.
Moreover all of their VPS are now discounted by 20%. and have double RAM quote.Conscoiusness is only the enlighted lobby in the great dark building...

Sign up with a host where you know they don't oversell, otherwise the thing is going to be slow, windows requires more resources, if you happen to get Virtuozzo thats always slow, regardless, I think if you go Windows check out some of the latest Hyper-V offerings that are out there.
