Hello
I am intrested in becoming a reseller, and am wondering if there are any cheaply priced resellers out there. The reason for this price request is that if i decide to start a reseller hosting plan, i would like it to be cheap so i could see if i am making profit, and if i am not then i will know not to venture in anylonger and only loose a small amount of money.
Plans i am looking for are some of the followings:
space: 5 gigs
bw: 30 + gigs
unlimited domains and subs
unlimited mail accounts
alot of tools
good support.

Hello,
Wouldn't it be a good idea to request smaller quotas for a reseller account if you are just looking to start? It will be much less $$ to start

Just remember with cheap price you may end up with cheap everything else as well.
Quality is more important that quantity if you plan to sell hosting and want to keep you customers over time

Find what works for you.
I would suggest seeing what you can find for reseller accounts then take out a calculator and figure how much you could make if you offered X amount of this and that for hosting packages.
Just make sure you look for a provider that has been around for awhile - hosts come and go all the time so you need to be careful when choosing. There are many good providers you can find in the offers section of this board or even via search engines.

The other thing to do is to start with a small account and see how it goes. Don't jump into a 5 GB account unless you are planning to sell a lot of space quickly or give very big accounts.
Moreover, look for good support and service. If you don't have someone there for tech support when you need it your client will be pissed when something goes wrong and you don't have an answer and can't get a hold of anyone.
Lastly, look for a free trial period or a money back guarantee for a few weeks. This will allow you to get your feet wet (so to speak) and not commit yourself. Plus it allows you to evaluate the host and see they respond to you.
Good Luck.Richard

Re: <<< Needs a good but cheap reseller plan.
The Disk Space might be a little too much (as suggested by others here). My recommendation would be to get a 1 GIG disk & 10-20 GIG transfer. Most people who need a website don't use more than 50 MB, maybe 100MB, but that's about it. you could easily slice your resell space up to match the client needs. Ideal solution would be to have reseller accounts that are 500 MB disk and 10 GIG transfer. Allows for 10 50MB accounts or 3 250MB accounts.Originally posted by hnbui

Wrong forum for promoting your own business - you'll want to edit your post as those types of ads belong in the offers section.

Essentials,
Sorry about that. I had a look around about posting etc and didn't find anything regarding rules etc. Was expecting a sticky of some sort in the forum, but none found.
I've removed the link to our resellers section. The other information I provided should be valid for the question at hand.

Are you looking to resell these plans? If so you may want something with cPanel and WHM.

Why go through the expense and headaches?
Just find the right kind of reseller program that does not require any up front money from you and provides all the support and tools. Many people make investments into Reseller Programs which they get locked into. I see people trying to sell their client bases all the time. If you just Sell other Hosting Companies Services for a commission, you can earn a lot of money without the headaches.

Most reseller accounts only cost anywhere from $25 to $75 per month and resellers can bring in hundreds to thousands per month with their own standard hosting account that they manage. Giving these profits to someone else is only good for the person with the actual account. Unless of course they are not willing to invest much time in the hosting business.Last edited by Essentials; Mar 12th, 2003 at 05:19 PM.
