Question Looking for reliable host at least 350mb

Hi! I'm currently hosting with Comminitech.net but connection to my area is pretty unstable. Asia servers are pretty expensive so I'm sticking to those elsewhere like Australia, US, UK,etc...

    I found this:

    http://www.aplushosting.com/

The ping rate from here to there seems to be the fastest so far but I'm still looking for better rates for reliable hosts.

    Here are my requirements:
    -at least 350mb
    -at least 25GB/month transfer
    -at least 7 sub-domains
    -unique ip
    -preinstalled CGI
-custom CGI (preferably can install scripts anywhere)
    -statistics
    -web control panel
    -uptime guarantee

    Budget is ard US$30/month.

Any valuable info will be very much appreciated Thank you!

    Exclamation

aplushosting.com was one of the first hosts that I considered. One of my favourite sites, http://www.wrestlecrap.com used to host with them...well...until they shut him down without warning for using too much bandwidth (and yes, they do claim unlimited bandwidth too).

You'd want to read their AUP VERY carefully. They have a clause that says they'll shut you down if your site exceeds 140,000 hits (and hits is not = page views) a day. That's something you'll need to think about.

They cleared up the unlimited bandwidth part here:
    http://www.aplushosting.com/english/bandwidth.phtml

They claim to give warnings before closing the site but anyway my current one doesn't have so many hits anyway, more like most of our files are graphics, movies and music.

Thanks a lot for all the replies and mails, I'll keep them as reference when I need to move my websites later.

According to RD (the webmaster of wrestlecrap.com), if 10 graphics (.gif, .jpg, etc) load up on one page, then A+ Hosting will take that as 10 hits. So 1 page view could actually mean 10 (or should I say 11 including the page itself) hits. Factor in the number of pages on your site as well as the 140,000-hit limit, then decide if it will work out signing up with them.

As I've mentioned earlier, you will want to read ALL their policies very carefully. They give me the impression that they are control freaks obsessed with server performance, and to a certain extent, it seems to me they are the ones choosing customers and not the other way round. Also, I find the clause on "being rude to staff" amusing, as it seems to suggest they get a lot of people shouting or cursing and swearing at them.

They are not all that bad though. About 2 months back I e-mailed several of their customers (from their customers reference page), and the general response is that they provide very good and fast technical support. My own pre-sales questions were answered within a half hour. If my planned site wasn't that demanding I'd probably sign up with them.

You might also want to check out Tera-Byte. They come in highly recommended by many people on hosting forums, and I personally have friends who are customers who are very pleased with their service.

Yeah, Aplushosting seems to be really like control freaks ya said. The "being rude to staff" part is also pretty new. So far they answered my pre-sales questions pretty fast and the feedback from a webmaster doing the same theme as mine replied that they are good. The number of hits part is a bit of worry...

I'd seen Tera-Byte's plan but I wonder how much they charge for 350mb... The ping rate from here to there seems slower though (sweatdrops)

Check out http://www.dim8.net for $20 a month you can get 350MB diskspace and 15GB Transfer. Dim8's Server is located at tera-byte.

When i was on a virtual account with tera-byte and asked for a space increase they said no unless you upgrade packages. I was one away from the top package and they dont go past the space they advertise. I decided to get my own server with them instead
