whew. All these affairs sound terrible to me.
I'm also a customer of registerfly, and never had troubles (sometimes their php web application doesn't react correctly, but that's all). But I only have 4 domains with 'em. And don't do anything like DNS hosting. Most of those "cheap" registrars never have good DNS services. DNS should always be hosted externally by a prof. company. Well, after reading all those very negative experiences, I'll try to get away from registerfly asap. Any company you can recommend? GoDaddy? I need one where I can register nameservers for my domains (because I need full control over DNS). |

Register.com
Networksolutions.com ..I went back to the original (Network solutions). I know alot of people dont like then and they are $$.....but they always pick up the phone - they always answer email and the treat me like a valued customer. Register.com was good too...I never had any issues with them, but since the pricing is the same..I figured I would stick with the original. These garbage cheap registrars out there come and go and you have to wonder how they can get along selling domains at $7. Well I think I found out why first hand. My time and sanity are worth alot more than a paultry savings on domain fees. YMMV Jeff |

Registerfly is as corrupt as they come and don't let them intimidate you.
I too had my domain ransomed by them. While even their own website, including the domain manager on their site, showed my domain not expiring for more than a year, they took control of my domain and then extorted me for in excess of $200 to get it back. Sure I paid the money but what choice did I have? Still, while I had no choice but to pay them, I do not intend to allow them to get away with this. Getting my credit card charges reversed is the least of what I intend to do. Also, don't forget, ICANN should probably be named in any suit which should also name individuals on their Board of Directors. Keep in mind, they probably have insurance but neither that insurance nor "corporate shield" will protect their management from personal liablity in the event of fraud and this is fraud. As for ICANN, they "accredited" Registerfly and, If ICANN continues to look the other way, they are liable and should be accountable, as well. Contacting the NJ Attourney General is not a bad idea but NJ has a reputation for being corrupt so I wouldn't be surprised if they do nothing. This is probably a federal matter, anyway, so you may want to contact the FBI office in your area. Regardless, Registerfly must be prosecuted! |

not strange. they have been behaving that way for quite some time.
People have complained about them that they just sell your domains to clients and mint money and you keep banging your head.

Yet ANOTHER RegisterFly horror story! I registered a few domains and an SSL with them before I found out about the nightmares. I moved to a different server, and they said I would have to buy another SSL to install on that server, that the original was basicly no good anymore! I contacted Godaddy and found out otherwise. But, instead of argueing with them over the issue, I choose to purchase an SSL from Godaddy. Their hosting isn't that great at all from what I hear, but their domains and other products are great, and they actually answer emails and phone calls! Have you ever tried calling RegisterFly? It puts you on hold for about 10 minutes and then just disconnects!
I read somewhere that they are one of the largest registrars in terms of growth. I just can't believe so many people are getting hosed!

Happy customer?
I'm really hapy, after I have read this forum. I first thought I was the only one facing problems with the all mighty Registerfly.com
My problems: 1. I have asked for a hosting service for my domainname combipill.info which I had registered at registefly.com. I have had problems with the payment procedure on heir website. When I informed them about this the answer was: Just try it once more. If you are already registered the second payment will be canceled automaticaly...... OK, nice to know. The hosting service was OK. But after some months I saw the history report and noticed they have charged me twice for the same domainname (see above) E-mail (10), faxes (5) are not succesful. Although requested I have never received any reply to my fax. Via e-mail they let me know it is too long ago...... That it is complete nonsens to have two hosting packages for one domain name is not clear. Strange because webstats gives information about one domain name. I pay twice for the same info. FTP, e-mail and all other services are all about the same domainname. They do not undertand.... 2. My website is down several times a day. When I call the answer is: It's here OK, you have no problem. When I confronted them with the reports of Alertsite and ez-noc their answer was: It's is now OK here, you have no problem. 3. Webstats generates reports every day but not real time. So my question was: is it possible to see the number of users on a real time base? And now their answer: ' Webstat is configuring right from server so there is no way to change the settings of webstat. Thank you Rapid Response Service Registerfly.com INC ICANN Accredited Registrar Ever hear a more incompetent answer??? I get daiy reports and they don't even know that. Where are the call center employees trained and located??????? Now I really need a drink, the list is longer but I am destroying my keyboard if I go on...... A new customer service interpretation has been invented by registerfly.com |
